I’m in between what needs to be done for Markbearer, so I’m back on Weekly Rounding-Up
First off, don’t forget this coming Monday is Excerpt Monday. We’d love for new people to join in and play along. With how successful the jump was from Month 1 to Month 2, Mel and I have set up a Excerpt Monday blog. Please check it out. Also, if you’re looking to get involved, check out the Guidelines….it has important information….like that your link needs to be to us SUNDAY *hint hint*
Waxman Literary did a smart and clever post on the 7 Publishing Virtues. How many do you have?
Kristen Nelson does a thoughtful look called How I Submit. It really got me thinking about the next few steps in my agent search as I wrap up the R&Rs and begin thinking about submitting elsewhere while I wait to hear. What do I need/want in submissions info from my agent. In the post before that, Get Specific Names, she address the “why” of How I Submit…and one of an author’s big fears.
Jessica Faust also deals with the idea of people having previous agents HERE. AND, I loved this post — Agents Aren’t The Enemy – Yes, we’ve seen the bloggers she’s referring to. Yes, we followed agentfail. And, Yes, we’re glad to hear an agent come straight on at these.
Caren Johnson Literary Agency’s blog has moved HERE. And this weeks favorite post is Rejection Etiquette. It’s clear to me that Rachel Downes is clear. I wish everyone were as clear as she is.
Elaine Spencer of the Knight Agency did a really wonderful interview at Hooked On Romance.
This one is getting posted strictly because I just plain loved the post –> Click Here Can you top those?
This first one is for Ella Drake. Space Opera’s seem to be making a publicity come back. Houses have calls out for them and now HarperCollins has The New Space Opera 2 coming out in June. Ladies! Where were you? It’s exciting to see, but it’s mostly men writing for this list. I thought we were past all that? But seriously, it’s a great collection of writers. I’ll be peaking at it.

Hey, Bria! Thanks for the shout out! I have The New Space Opera 1, and some of those stories really make you think. They’re more SF than a fun space romp with loads of characters (ala Star Wars, Firefly, or Star Trek). Still, I’ll be keeping an eye out for volume 2.
Space Opera can truly rock. I’m happy to see the calls for submissions in that genre. & I’m looking forward to reading more Romance in my Space Opera.
